Our Committees

Grant Writing

This team seeks out grant opportunities and applies for them to benefit the PTO. This committee has a lead and welcomes anyone who has grant writing and nonprofit experience as well as those who are interested in searching for grant opportunities and organization.

Book Fairs

This committee is responsible for two Scholastic Book Fairs (Oct 21 - 24 & April TBD) as well as our winter book shop. This committee has a lead but needs help with volunteer recruitment, promotions, decoration planning, social media, and working the book events.

Catalog Fundraisers

This committee is responsible for managing and promoting fundraisers like Tom Evans, Equal Exchange, and Original Works. This committee has a lead but could use help with distribution, collection, promotions, and packaging up goods to go home with students.

Snowflake Ball

This is an event that will take place on Feb 21st, it is a party held in the evening with a full pancake dinner and DJ, we deck the gym out with decorations and have craft stations in various spots, as well as face painters. This is the biggest event of the year, it has co-chairs but needs members to help with the event planning and execution.

This committee is responsible for communications to our parents, including emails, social media, working with administrators to include updates to be included in school and district emails, supporting flyer needs for other committees, and supporting our volunteer signup system. This committee needs help with: social media ambassadors, volunteer recruiters, data entry, backup email outreach, graphic design, creative needs.

Teacher Appreciation

During teacher appreciation week the PTO provides tokens of appreciation to teachers. This could be anything from snacks to notes from students. We also provide dinner to teachers during parent teacher conferences. We have a lead for this committee but could use help with: coming up with more ideas, packaging and distributing treats during teacher appreciation week, helping setup and clean up dinners, and recruiting volunteers to donate time to assist.

Box Tops

If parents send in box tops clipped from common groceries and household products we can send them in and receive funds. We have a lead but could use help with education on the new digital submission, promotions, and new creative ideas to get more participation.

Bake Sales

Throughout the year the PTO hosts bake sales that sells baked goods provided by parents. This happens after every student concert and during our beginning of year picnic as well as preschool registration. We have a lead but she needs help recruiting volunteers to bake, setting up the display of all goods, pricing everything, and running the sale.

Treat Days

During special occasions throughout the year such as Farm Animal Visits (Oct 30 & 31) and Valentines day our Treat Day committee provides a special treat to each student at the ECC. We need new members to help with come up with ideas for treats, package them, and distribute them to classrooms (the teachers will then usually distribute them to students).

This committee is responsible for maintaining our website, email administration, file sharing permissions, and other systems. We have a lead for this committee, but are open to additional members who have experience in web design (WordPress & Elementor), graphic design, and e-commerce

Spirit Wear
*Members Needed*

This is a joint effort with the Elementary PTO that runs our spirit wear store. We have a lead for this committee, but welcome additional committee members who can assist with inventory management, transporting or arranging transportation of inventory, and creative ideas.

Trivia Night

This is a joint effort with the Elementary PTO and is our largest event fundraiser. This year Trivia Night will happen on November 23rd. There is a chair for this event but we are looking for more people to help seek out donations for our silent auction and raffles as well as help prep the night before and day of the event making auction baskets, fliers that describe our auction items, and more.
